Application

Thank you for your interest in the UCLA COMPASS Program!

Freshmen applications open Thursday, May 1 and are due Friday, May 30 by 5:00 pm (PST) 2025.
Transfer Student application deadline will be early Fall 2025 and posted during the summer.

Eligibility to apply*:

Freshmen applicants must successfully complete MCDB 30H and be a sophomore at the start of the program.

Transfer applicants must successfully complete BMD RES 5HA or BMD RES 10H or Transfer Summer Program’s Res Prac 103 for Life Sciences majors and have two years remaining at UCLA at the start of the program.

We highly suggest completing your application in a word document and then copying/pasting your responses into the application below. This application will ask you to select 5 research areas that you would be most interested in pursuing if selected into COMPASS. All of the COMPASS Faculty Mentors work within the Broad Stem Cell Research Center (BSCRC). The list of their research areas can be found by clicking the link below.
